Our History

Government of Sri Lanka had always wanted a thriving local Textile Industry in Sri Lanka. Prior to 1978 era Sri Lanka had some of the best Textile Plants in South Asia catering to the local market with high quality fabrics. Post 1978 era also Sri Lanka had a booming textile industry.

It was then the founders of Star Textile Processing Industries joined together and formed the company in 1986. It was a humble start we had only a few basic machines like a 4 Chamber Stenter, a few Jigger dyeing machines and a Kier.

Over the years this company has grown to be the leader in providing services such as dyeing printing and finishing to the local textile industry. At present we have a capacity of about 1.5 million meters of woven fabric per month. We have also started dyeing printing and finishing of knit fabrics and have a capacity to cater about 100 thousand Kgs per month.

Apart from the core business of providing services to the local weavers and knitters, we have also started our own weaving and knitting unit comprising of Air Jet Looms and Water Jet Looms in the weaving unit and single jersey, interlock and rib machines in the knitting unit.
